How INBLOOM Uses The HEDDphone for Live Engineering

Sound engineering involves work that is difficult to describe with just words but is easy to explain with feelings. "You can't communicate it, but it feels right," is how INBLOOM explains it.

Based in London, INBLOOM is a mix engineer, producer, and Front Of House engineer delivering the studio and live sound for some of the UK's most exciting artists including Loyle Carner, Little Simz, Amaarae and Jorja Smith. Over the past 8 years, he has developed a unique skillset that allows him to help musicians bring their studio recordings and live shows closer than ever, thanks in part to technological advances that make it possible to replicate effect chains and other key studio processes on stage.

"The first time I tried the HEDDphone, I knew that was it, it's trust," he says of his first encounter with HEDD Audio's innovative headphones. Since then, the HEDDphone has allowed him to ensure that whatever decision he takes behind the boards - EQ, balance, or dynamic - will correctly translate to whatever space the artist and their audience find themselves in.

Watch our interview with INBLOOM, recorded while on tour in Berlin, to hear him explain how FoH engineering has involved in recent years, including the advent of virtual soundchecking, and get a taste of how he works with Loyle Carner.
